Passive fire protection

fire protection joints

Both the Technical Building Code and the Fire Security Regulations for Industrial Establishments set down that Passive Fire Protection is an essential aspect when projecting and executing a building of any kind. The inside and outside sectorisation conditions, together with those of the evacuation of buildings, can only be guaranteed when the passive protection has been well designed and above all well executed.

PEFIPRESA offers all the passive protection solutions on the market, with the guarantee of its EXCLUSIVE dedication to fire protection.

Structural fire protection

  • Protection of pillars and beams with fireproof panels
  • Protection of pillars and beams with rock wool panels
  • Protection of structures by the projection of mortars
  • Protection of structures with intumescent paint

Sealing of penetrations and protection of electric cables

  • Sealing of cable trays and firestops.

The joint application of rock wool panels and fire-resistant coating under the conditions required by the manufacturers allow the obtaining of fire resistance conditions in the pan passages in the same way as the compartment elements.
The application of fire-resistant coating every so many metres allows the establishing of firebreaks along the great lengths of the cable manholes so as to prevent fire spreading.

  • Panel systems for creating fire-resistant conduits

Proteccion pasivaIt is possible to execute closed conduits by means of fire-resistant panels, within which cable pans run, to form an independent fire sector.

  • Intumescent pads for sealing cable trays.

When frequent changes to the cables or openings for the passing of electrical installations are expected, the application of intumescent pads saves time and replacement costs, as it is possible to remove them, make the necessary changes, and reinstall them. In this way the required fire resistance is maintained.

installation Intumescent hoops for combustible pipes
Pipes of plastics and their derivatives are combustible and in the event of fire become a dangerous point for the transmission of smoke, heat, etc.
Intumescent hoops are installed by bracing the combustible pipe at its junction point between sectors. When the fire acts and begins to melt the pipe, the material of the hoop dilates and strangles the passage of the pipe, thus sealing the gap and preventing the passing of heat, smoke, and gases.
