PANEL SEAL AND COATING

HOW IT WORKS

Installations which pass through independent fire sectors generate critical points in terms of a fire spreading between adjacent enclosures in a short space of time.

To improve the division between these points and avoid the separating structures from being weakened through installation passages, PEFIPRESA offers the KBS Panel Seal ABL system.

PEFIPRESA offers the KBS Panel Seal ABL system to reduce the risk of installation passages through a system of rock wool, and thermoplastic resins used in the coating.

There are no health risks during or after the installation process as harmful substances classified as toxic or dangerous are not used. There is also no danger of harmful or toxic gases when the system is exposed to fire.

Our systems have been tested under recognized standards such as; UL / ISO / EN / NBN / Arêtè / CM / DIN / BS / ASTM / SABS / IEC and also have FM GLOBAL approval.

TEMPORARY OR MOVABLE SEALS USING PADS SYSTEMS

HOW IT WORKS

This solution is made up of sealed fiberglass fabric, filled with a combination of mineral fibres, non-combustible components, water-insoluble expanding agents and special fire retardant additives. They are resistant to water, light, heat, ice and, in general, to industrial environments.

The cushions expand at high temperatures, sealing the gaps and preventing the passage of smoke and fire. They can be used vertically and horizontally.

The cushions are removable, replaceable and can be re-positioned providing flexibility along the lifetime of the project or installation and thereafter in order to access the structure when necessary.

The benefit of only having to work with those cushions in the space required provides a flexible approach to the sealing solution. It also ensures the complete coverage of gaps. PEFIPRESA provides instructions to be followed under these circumstances.

TYPES OF SEALS USING PADS SYSTEMS

The KBS Sealbag system is appropriate for spaces with a high electrical component that may require modifications or extensions etc. This system is easy to install and replace, allowing installations and equipment in these types of spaces to remain active throughout their useful life without compromising safety.

Our systems have been tested under recognized standards such as; UL / ISO / EN / NBN / Arrêté / CM / DIN / BS / ASTM / SASBS / IEC and also have FM GLOBAL approval.

Very few mobile sealing systems in the world market have been awarded with the prestigious FM GLOBAL accreditation.

PIPE COLLARS: PROTECTION FOR COMBUSTIBLE PIPES

HOW IT WORKS

The collars are installed to fuel pipes that cross compartments to restrict the penetration of fire between adjacent sectors. They can be used on both vertical and horizontal structures.

To slow down the spread of fire the collar expands at high temperatures and  seals the corresponding gap.

The collar is adjusted to the diameter of the pipe, then fixed to the floor or wall by means of special clip rivets and threaded screws, to sit flush with the wall or set into the wall, as required.

PEFIPRESA offers collar systems to solve PVC, PP, PE, etc. pipe passages.

SEALED JOINTS AND CREVICES

HOW IT WORKS

Another critical point that reduces the effectiveness of fire sectorization relates the joints and crevices between the vertical and horizontal structures.

In some cases the interior partitions are built and covered but are still open to high risk when faced with the spread of smoke, gases and flames.

PEFIPRESA offers fixed sealing systems based on rock wool panels and coating based on thermoplastic resins that guarantee the closure of gaps and complete the sectorization process.

FIREWALL ON ELECTRICAL CABLES

HOW IT WORKS

In specific cases, by laying cable trays, feeding security systems, etc. these present a considerable risk of fire propagation, due to their linear configuration and the possibility of the coating elements combusting.

In order to reduce the possibility of fires spreading into these types of installations and without compromising the fire protection sealants or other means of active or passive protection, it is advisable to have the necessary means to interrupt the continuity before reaching these elements. To do this, it is recommended that sections of fire resistant lining are made to prevent rapid uncontrolled propagation and also to guarantee a certain time of integrity in the electrical circuit.

PEFIPRESA, recommends implementing firewalls in the following cases:

– The protection of grouped electrical cables (laying cable trays, inputs to control panels, etc.), both horizontally and vertically.

– Protection of trays of temporary welding activities and other applications that involve a high risk of fire.

The KBS COATING system has approvals according to IEC.

PROTECTION OF VENTILATION / EXTRACTION DUCTS WITH A PANEL SYSTEM

HOW IT WORKS

The regulation currently establishes that ventilation and extraction facilities comply with the fire resistance requirements at least equal to that required of the sector they are providing for, except for those exceptions indicated in the standard.

To ensure that the route of the ducts meet these requirements, PEFIPRESA offers lining solutions using fibro silicate plates, laminated gypsum, etc. The conduits must maintain the sectorization not only for a fire from its interior, but also a possible external fire. The protection measure will affect both horizontal and vertical paths and therefore testing of these solutions must take into account all of these variants.

FIRE DAMPERS

WHAT ARE FIRE DAMPERS FOR?

Fire dampers are used to automatically close openings, ventilation and air conditioning ducts with the aim of compartmentalising fire sectors of any building, in accordance with what is required under the current regulations.

This system will not be valid when the ducts are used for fire protection (extraction of smoke and gases generated by a fire, pressurization systems on evacuation routes, etc.).

Fire dampers is built by an enclosure or fire-resistant and reinforced casing which gives it a special robustness and compatibility with the construction elements on which it is to be placed. The closing flap located inside is made up of fire resistant elements and must be aligned with the fire resistant forge or closure.

PEFIPRESA offers an integral solution in fire protection, providing synergy between active and passive protection measures, and the incorporation of this solution in our detection and alarm systems of active fire protection. By this, we guarantee the functionality of the dampers, offering the possibility of operation and supervision from the central unit of the fire protection system.

FIRE RESISTANT GRID

HOW IT WORKS

The fireproof ventilation grilles are designed to allow ventilation and in turn, prevent the passage of fire.

They are made with intumescent material and can be used with PVC or metal protection, ideal for humid places or outdoors.

They are simple to install and are manufactured in various sizes and models to adapt to the requirements and regulations.

PEFIPRESA offers these solutions in parking lots, doors, ventilation ducts (round or square), spaces with dangerous materials, etc.
